FURMINATOR TREATMENTS GIVE WEEKS OF RELIEF FROM DEAD HAIR
After the hydrosurge bath and brushing, which removes the loose hiar and tangles, your Groomer uses the FURminator tool and a special "carding" technique to remove more of the hair.
Within a few days you will see a noticeable reduction in the amount of hair being shed...up to 80%.

ALL ABOUT SHEDDING AND WHAT IS HAPPENING
Dogs shed. Some of them shed a lot. Most people who get a dog know about shedding, but do not realize how much hair they will be dealing with.
HAIR CYCLES
Hair does not grow continually, but in cycles. After a growing stage the hair rests. During this resting stage a new hair is growing beside the old hair, which is then shed out. This is when it lands on your clothes, floor and furniture.
At any given time there is hair on the dog in different phases. Hair is lost all year, with heavier shedding occurring seasonally. Light affects the cycle, so when the days are longer, spring to summer, there is more shedding. Domestication has changed seasonal shedding to some extent. House pets are exposed to long hours of artificial light, so they tend to lose hair year round.
HOW CAN YOUR GROOMER HELP?

HOW FURMINATOR TREATMENTS ARE DONE
1. A warm massaging bath with our Hydrosurge bathing system and our De-Shedding Shampoo is the first step to
loosen the hair.
2. A De-shedding solution is then worked into the coat and rinsed.
3. Hand drying is the next stage. The coat is brushed and combed while high volume hair dryers are used to penetrate the coat to the skin and loosen and blow out the coat.
4. Finally the groomer uses a special FURminator tool to "card" out the remaining excess undercoat.
THE RESULTS
At first, because the pet hair follicles have been disturbed, you will see some shedding. After 24 hours the coat will settle and you will see a remarkable reduction in shedding.
Returning for regular FURminator treatments will dramatically reduce the hair in the car, the home, and on your clothes.
HOW OFTEN CAN FURMINATOR TREATMENTS BE DONE?
At the peak of the shedding season treatments may need to be done every three weeks. Most owners of pets with shedding problems book for every 6 to 8 weeks.
